Registration to attend the Chapter's annual conference does not result automatically in membership:
Nominal Dues Categories - While we are one of 190 Chapters of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the ACFE and each local chapter is an independent entity, and a separate corporation. Being a member of the ACFE and paying dues to its Texas-based Association, is separate and distinct from being a member of Maryland Chapter #21. The only means by which you are entitled to present yourself as a member of Maryland Chapter #21 is to join and pay the Chapter dues. Currently our chapter dues are a nominal amount. See the pricing structure below.
CFEs and Associates -To become a Certified Chapter Member, you must have received the the Certified Fraud Examiner’s (CFE) designation granted by the ACFE. No chapter has the ability to award the CFE designation. However if you are an Associate member of the ACFE, you can pay our chapter dues to become an Associate of our Chapter. See the ACFE for details on qualifications to become a CFE or an Associate of the ACFE.
Affiliates - If you are interested in fighting fraud and you are not a CFE or an Associate, you are welcome to join our chapter as an Affiliate.
